Kala KA-M Curly Mango Ukuleles

The bodies of these instruments are made from curly mango which is perhaps better known for its delicious fruit than its wood, but there is no doubt that the beautifully figured wood of the mango tree makes a truly sweet sounding ukulele.

The neck and the body bindings are from solid, straight grained mahogany which ideally compliments the swirls and stripes of the mango.
Rosewood fingerboards, synthetic bone nuts and saddles, Aquila strings and high quality diecast machine heads add the finishing touches to these beautiful ukuleles.

Here's a real touch of class for the discerning player! The body is constructed entirely from solid acacia wood and bound with an attractive herringbone purfling. The soundhole rosette is also inlayed with herringbone pattern inlay.
The neck is made from straight grained nato with a rosewood fingerboard beautifully inlayed with mother of pearl position markers..
The machine heads are high quality die-cast units which ensure accurate tuning, and of course the strings are made by 'Aquila', the prefered choice of all professional uke players.

KA-SSTU Kala Soprano Travel Ukulele

Here's something a bit different! It's a standard soprano size but with a thinner body which makes it extremely portable and the ideal uke to take on your travels. The thin body is very comfortable to hold in the playing position and, suprisingly, the volume and tone do not suffer in the slightest because of its diminutive size. It has a solid spruce front, mahogany back & sides and a rosewood fingerboard. The build quality is up to the high standard we have come to expect from Kala - and we certainly think this great little uke is a sure-fire winner! A nice quality, well- padded gigbag is included in the price.

KA-SSTUT-FM Kala Flamed Maple Tenor Travel Ukulele

This is an exotic version of the tenor uke above which, at first glance, looks very similar. But there are some important differences which lift it into a class of its own, as follows:

Top: solid spruce

Back and sides: Exotic flamed maple

Headstock: Faced with flamed maple.

Cosmetically the woods are more interesting and also it is a little lighter in weight than the mahogany versions above which tends to impart a fuller, sweeter tone.

KA-PU-SMH Kala 'Pocket' Ukulele

You'd still need quite a large pocket for this to be truly "pocket sized" but it certainly comes close. At only 41.5 cm. long with a scale length of 28cm. this is certainly the smallest uke we've seen!
In order to show just how small it is, we have photographed it next to a conventional soprano size uke.
Surprisingly though, it's very playable, and the sound is crisp and clear. It is made from solid mahogany throughout with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge and high quality friction pegs - and, of course, the overall quality is everything you would expect from Kala.
It is tuned A/E/C/G (the same as a soprano uke) although we have found that it can comfortably be tuned 5 semitones higher to D/A/F/C if desired.
A high quality, well-padded gigbag is included in the price.
